The internship is mine if I want it. Which I do. So, I'll be making the move back to Georgia very soon. As soon as I get everything figure out as far as where I'll be living, a part-time job (or 2). Its all going to be very scary and stressful for a while, I think, but I'm excited. This is what I want to do with the rest of my life, so whatever sacrifices I need to make to make it happen, I'm willing to do it. Oh boy. I never really thought I'd actually have a chance at a job in the music industry, I always wanted it, but for it actually be happening now..wow. It's all kind of surreal and crazy. Everything is finally starting to fall into place. Eek! I'm really looking forward to seeing where it all takes me.

Jobs..Money..YUCK!

current song: Kellie Pickler - Best Days Of Your Life

The newspaper job isn't looking too promising anymore. I talked to my friend who works for the paper and she said they're letting some people go because no one is buying ad space because the economy sucks so bad. Therefore, they can't afford to keep all their employees. I haven't heard I won't be hired anymore, but then again they aren't the greatest at communicating either.

I was feeling discouraged about the whole job search thing earlier this week so I decided to send my resume out to a few places again. This time I focused just on music booking agencies, mainly in the Atlanta area. I got a response back yesterday morning from one of them. It was from the CEO of the agency and he said he's currently looking for an intern and is interested in speaking with me. So I'm calling him on Monday. I know nothing about their internship program but I'm excited about the possibility. It's exactly what I want to do, so I'm willing to take an internship over an actual full-time job somewhere, if it'll get me headed in the right direction. I'm hoping it's a paid internship, haha. I'm not entirely sure how I could afford to live if it's not, haha

I've been working quite a bit at the store recently. Thank goodness because I have car insurance due in a few weeks, yuck. Stupid car..it doesn't even run right. The belt on it has broken twice in the past week so I can't even really drive it right now. Why pay insurance on it? Good grief. I need to buy a new car but I can't even afford the one I have now. I'm sick of money..or the lack thereof.

The new President, whoever it may end up being, had better have a plan to help the economy. I'm sick of living like this.

So, I think I finally may have gotten myself a big girl job. I'm just waiting to be hired. I had a meeting with the newspaper in Rome, GA last week and was told that I'm the only person being considered for the job but the powers-that-be haven't given the okay to hire for the position yet. As soon as the okay is given I'll be receiving a phone call. The earliest it'll be is October, so its just a waiting game now. The job is as an advertising representative, designing and creating ads for the paper. I think my main focus, however, will be designing and putting together the Chamber Magazine. Not the most glamorous job but it'll get my foot in the door and get me some real life job experience. Not to mention it'll get me out on my own.

I came to a not so fun realization while in Georgia visiting friends at Shorter. I've grown up this summer a lot more than I thought I have. It was like I hardly even fit in with the college students...and a lot of them are my age and older. College graduation really can and sometimes does change a person..I'm not sure I like it. Oh well.

current song: That's What You Get - Paramore

The past few weeks have been frustrating. I'd been waiting on a phone call from a job I applied for in Georgia. I finally gave up on and called them. The woman told me she was very interested and they'd be having a meeting to discuss it on Monday. She then said I'd be hearing from her within the next week. Well the next week has come and gone and no phone call. I was going to call her today but she's out of the office. I'm just getting really frustrated with this job search, it sucks. I applied for another job working for Shorter College as a Public Relations Specialist. It looks like a good job and I'm starting to think I want it. At first I just applied because it was a job that I'm qualified for, I didn't really like the idea of working for a school, I never really have, but the more I've thought about it the better it sounds. I got a response back today saying my resume was being reviewed and if they're interested in conducting an interview they'll be contacting me.

I'm ready to be done with the grocery store, I'm ready to move away from Fremont and start my own life, I'm finally ready to grow up. After I graduated I hated the idea of growing up and having to find a "big girl job," I wasn't ready to leave school and the life I'd grown so comfortable with. As much as I miss school and everyone at school I think I'm finally okay with the idea of being a college graduate. Its just hard to get excited about it when you're a college graduate, living at home with your parents, and working a part-time job at a grocery store.

I'm extremely anxious, antsy, and just plain out frustrated.

Waited all my life for this day to come
I feel like letting go, life goes on
Wasting no more time
So much to be done
Everything works out
So they say
Over my shoulder, it's tough getting older
Yeah, yeah.......

Seems like nothing is black and white anymore
Shades of gray and I feel a weight over my shoulder
It's tough getting older
I always thought that I knew where I'd want to go
Now I'm here and I find that I'm still getting colder
It's kinda tough getting older

Here before my eyes, many roads ahead
Time for me to choose one way now
If I take a chance
What lies down the road
Feeling so confused, turned round
On and on, on and on
yeah yeah.....

Seems like nothing is black and white anymore
Shades of gray and I feel a weight over my shoulder
It's tough getting older
I always thought that I knew where I'd want to go
Now I'm here and I find that I'm still getting colder
It's kinda tough getting older

Waited all my life for this day to come
I feel like letting go, life goes on
Over my shoulder (on and on)
It's tough getting older (on and on, on)
Yeah, yeah.....

Seems like nothing is black and white anymore
Shades of gray and I feel a weight over my shoulder
It's tough getting older
I always thought that I knew where I'd want to go
Now I'm here and I find that I'm still getting colder
It's kinda tough getting older

Seems like nothing is black and white anymore
Shades of gray and I feel a weight over my shoulder
It's tough getting older

I'm finally auditioning for American Idol. I'm leaving the 18th for Louisville, KY and the audition is the 21st. I'm super excited and slowly am getting more and more nervous. I'm going with a group of people, one of which I competed against in Michigan Idol. I don't know if I'm more excited about auditioning or just going and meeting a bunch of new people and having one of the greatest experiences of my life. Regardless, I'm super excited! I've picked a few songs to audition with but need a few more and am having a hard time choosing. 1 song is hard enough to choose let alone at least 10, gah!

Spontaneous Idealist

June 18th, 2008 (04:29 am)

My personality type: the spontaneous idealist. Take the free iPersonic personality test!

Spontaneous Idealist (SI)

Spontaneous IdealistSpontaneous Idealists are creative, lively and open-minded persons. They are humorous and dispose of a contagious zest for life. Their enthusiasm and sparkling energy inspires others and sweeps them along. They enjoy being together with other people and often have an uncanny intuition for their motivations and potential. Spontaneous Idealists are masters of communication and very amusing and gifted entertainers. Fun and variety are guaranteed when they are around. However, they are sometimes somewhat too impulsive in dealing with others and can hurt people without really meaning to do so, due to their direct and sometimes critical nature.

This personality type is a keen and alert observer; they miss nothing which is going on around them. In extreme cases, they tend to be oversensitive and exaggeratedly alert and are inwardly always ready to jump. Life for them is an exciting drama full of emotionality. However, they quickly become bored when things repeat themselves and too much detailed work and care is required. Their creativity, their imaginativeness and their originality become most noticeable when developing new projects and ideas - they then leave the meticulous implementation of the whole to others. On the whole, Spontaneous Idealists attach great value to their inner and outward independence and do not like accepting a subordinate role. They therefore have problems with hierarchies and authorities.

If you have a Spontaneous Idealist as your friend, you will never be bored; with them, you can enjoy life to the full and celebrate the best parties. At the same time, they are warm, sensitive, attentive and always willing to help. If Spontaneous Idealists have just fallen in love, the sky is full of violins and their new partners are showered with attention and affection. This type then bubbles over with charm, tenderness and imagination. But, unfortunately, it soon becomes boring for them once the novelty has worn off. Boring everyday life in a partnership is not for them so that many Spontaneous Idealists slip from one affair into another. However, should the partner manage to keep their curiosity alive and not let routine and familiarity gain the upper hand, Spontaneous Idealists can be inspiring and loving partners.

current song: Blue Sky//Emily West

I've come to find a new appreciation for country music. Its all I really listen to anymore and I love it. I think a lot has to do with my visit to The Grand Ole Opry, which I'm still super excited about. Its just so real and honest, unlike any other genre of music. Its a shame more people don't have an appreciation for it. You can sing about whatever you want in country music, you can't really get away with that in other genres. I don't know if I have the voice for country music but if I make it big as a recording artists I think it's the genre I'd like to sing most.

Speaking of singing. I'm waiting on the release dates of the American Idol auditions. I'm not going to say I'm finally going to audition this season, because it seems every time I say that it doesn't happen. I'm hoping to audition this season, though. I'm hoping for a Michigan date, too. That'd make it perfect..doubtful that it'll happen but I guess I can hope. I feel more confident in my voice than I have in a long time, I think it's due to the vocal lessons I took last semester. I really learned a lot and how to use my voice.

I went back and read some of my old entries and good grief I was depressing! All I did was complain about things that weren't of any importance at all! I was always sad, angry, or some other depressing mood. I'm sure glad I've grown up. I never realized the kind of person I used to be, but I'm glad I've gotten past that stage of my life. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with being away at school and meeting the people I did. I learned a lot about life, people, and just myself in general. I've learned what's really important in life and what's not. I've learned how to talk about things rather than keep it kept up inside. I'd say I'm a much better person now than I've ever been. I was so needy back then too...I look back and it kind of creeps me out just how needy I was. I apologize to anyone who I may have clinged onto..really it's just one person, and if she reads this I hope she knows I'm sorry for being such a creeper.

I'm tired..I think bed time is sounding pretty good right now.

Paige [userpic]

Thanks...but no thanks.

Uh, so I got the job, but I don't think I'm going to take it because it sucks. I didn't go to school for 4 years to become a door to door salesperson. Literally...thats what the job is.

NASHVEGAS!

June 10th, 2008 (11:19 pm)

Just a real quick update, because I need to go to bed. But I'm in Nashville, TN right now. I've got an interview with a marketing firm down here tomorrow. Dad took mom and I to The Grand Ole Opry tonight. It was amazing!! I didn't know the majoring of the performers but it didn't matter, just being in that building was enough for me. I did know of Emily West and Daryl Singletary, though. I'm excited/anxious about my interview tomorrow, however I'm feeling confident, so hopefully it'll go well. I'm just worried I'll get the job and then will spend all my money on going to see The Grand Ole Opry every Tuesday night, haha.
